The Bedlington Terrier is a mild mannered dog that is intelligent and friendly. They are small enough to be kept indoors as playmates for children although they need quite a bit of outdoor exercise too.
Blue, liver, sandy and tan are the usual colors and they may appear both as solid or as multi colors.
The Bedlington Terrier is best known for its fluffy coat that makes it look like a lamb. Although they are a terrier they have the body of a greyhound and are capable of quite a turn of speed. They were developed in the town of Bedlington in England as an exterminator of vermin and were also raced for sport. They are very intelligent and good problem solvers and have to have daily exercise as they can get destructive if kept cooped up too long. Their coat needs a good brushing and bath occasionally to strip the old hair and dander but nothing much besides this.
