Cats are low maintenance creatures that don’t need a great deal to be happy. However, they revel in cat treats and many enjoy their cat toys. Cats can be trained but not in using the same things that work on other species. Just as dogs aren’t human in communication, cats aren’t dogs!
Cat beds do give your cat a place to call her own. Most cats prefer a soft place to lay if given a choice between that and a hard surface. Additionally many cats like to be UP. An easy solution is cat furniture and a cat bed. For example many don’t like their cats on counters and shelves, and yet a cat’s natural tendency is to climb. Having cat furniture such as a cat tree with a pole, shelves, scratching area and a bed gives the cat a private and personal area.
Cat toys can vary from balls with catnip to the empty toilet paper roll. Cat treats can be stashed up in their furniture and bed to encourage them to be comfortable and at home there. A cat carrier is also a good place to give occasional treats so the cat finds a comfortable part to being confined. This makes it much less stressful in emergency evacuations if the cat has a soft bed and carrier to be comfortable.
Normally cat clothing is something more for us. Unlike dogs there are fewer incidences of it needed for protection although for cats like the Sphynx they can appreciate a little extra warmth provided by cat clothing.
Cat treats are one way to motivate cats to learning. Unlike dogs who enjoy pleasing us the cat often doesn’t care as much. However, with treat motivation it is possible to teach cats to sit on command and other basic commands.
Basic cat supplies mean a happy, healthy cat and a happy, less stressed cat owner!
