There are three sizes for the American Eskimo;
Toy 9 – 12 inches
Miniature 12 – 15 inches
Standard 15 – 19 inches
Weight:
The smaller sized ones usually weigh between 13 and 20 lbs while the standard sized ones weigh between 20 and 40 lbs
Temperament:
The American Eskimo is a very quick witted, intelligent animal that makes a good watch dog. They usually restrict themselves to giving short sharp barks to announce the arrival of a stranger and do not attack.
Colors:
The American Eskimo comes only in two colors the most common being white followed by a biscuit cream color. They are usually solid colors and do not have any markings on them.
Other information:
The American Eskimo is a very intelligent dog and is very easily trained which is why they are very popular in circuses. They are neither overly friendly nor are they aggressive in nature and purebreds do not exhibit these traits. They have a twin coat of hair and shed copiously. Since these dogs are very active by nature, they require a lot of exercise although this can be done in your yard itself because of their small size.
