Bri's (Belated) Weekly Top Three 11.29.16

Holiday weekend was excellent for everyone I hope.  I know I had an enjoyable time-got two hang out with four extremely lovely dogs this past weekend-a corgi, brittany, and a couple gorgeous pitties.  Wish I could've taken them home with me, but someone, probably several someones, would be upset if I had.  At any rate, [...]

Bri's Weekly Top Three 11.18.16

Hello!  I've got some more toys this week, makes me feel a bit like Santa...if I had a chimney, and gained a few pounds, and wore a red suit, and wasn't lactose intolerant.  Okay, so I don't feel all that much like Santa, but I do like toys, and I like dogs, so I'm still [...]

Learning About Labradoodles

Crossing two breeds to dogs in pursuit of more desirable traits has been done throughout history, but these days seems to have hit critical mass as an outright trend.  My family even had a peek-a-poo for a while (Pekingese-Poodle mix) before we moved him to a friend's home where he could be the one-and-only puppy. [...]

Bri's Weekly Top Three 11.11.16

This week we're talking about dog toys!  There's a lot of them, and there's a huge variety.  Of course, there's a lot of potential for variety, since cats and dogs toys are different since they need different types of stimulation, and even if you only made toys based on animals, there's over 50,000 species of [...]

Tortes with 'Tude

Tortoiseshell cats are well-known by cat-owners and cat-lovers and anyone who has a general familiarity with cats.  Even if you don't know the name, it'd be hard to miss the distinctive fur patterning.  'Tortoiseshell' refers to cats with black or gray coats marbled with any number of 'reddish' colors that vary by individual cat.  It's [...]

Bri's Weekly Top Three 10.28.16

I shall bore you no more with pet costumes!  At least, not for a while yet.  This week I moved on to anything vaguely related to Thanksgiving, including pumpkin flavored treats, and Christmas items.  It's unbelievable how quickly this month passed, and suddenly I have a craving for turkey and stuffing.  It can wait, though, [...]

Play, Kitty, Play!

Like many shows or anything with a plot, My Cat From Hell focuses on things not going how we want or expect them to.  Never having owned a cat, I got really into the show when I moved into a home with a feline roommate.  One of the things that stood out to me in the [...]

Bri's Weekly Top Three 10.20.16

So, it was another week of all costumes, and while I love it, I'm sure its getting a little tiresome.  Fear not!  I've wrapped up costumes for the year (except for a stray one here or there as they relate to the coming holidays) so next week I suspect I'll manage to put together a [...]

Therapy Dogs

A few years ago my friend said they were going to train their dog Qian (who had previously been my family's dog, but since our old girl didn't take so well to a younger pup, we gave him to a family who could give him all the attention he needed without another dog interfering) to [...]

Adopted Out!

One of the happiest bits of news I've seen lately-a shelter in Kansas City, Missouri has adopted out 800 pets!  It was actually a combined effort of three shelters, and almost all their kennels are empty after a big annual adoption event, and most of the pets remaining were on hold for other potential forever homes. [...]
