Bri's Weekly Top Three 10.28.16

Posted by Briana Graber on

I shall bore you no more with pet costumes!  At least, not for a while yet.  This week I moved on to anything vaguely related to Thanksgiving, including pumpkin flavored treats, and Christmas items.  It's unbelievable how quickly this month passed, and suddenly I have a craving for turkey and stuffing.  It can wait, though, while I talk about my favorite three products I worked with this week.

First, there's pumpkin flavored dog treats.  Well, more accurately, pumpkin and mango flavored dog treats made by Fruitables.  I never really thought of pumpkin as a dog treat, though perhaps I'm just a stick in the mud, since my friend has a dog whose favorite treat is cheese, another one I never thought of, but I especially never thought of combining the flavor of pumpkin with mango.

I'm legitimately curious how that flavor combination works, so someone should go vote or petition a coffee shop to make pumpkin mango flavored coffee.  It doesn't sound bad, just interesting, and I'd never thought of it before.

The next two are Christmas toys, but one's a dog toy and one's a cat toy, so I don't feel like I'm overloading you with too much of the same product just yet.  The first is a squeak toy that's a reindeer shaped squeaker mat by Outward Hound (love the play on words in that name, by the way).

At first the idea of a squeaker mat reminded me of the giant keyboard in 'Big', but then the description referred to it as 'bubble wrap for dogs' which I though was brilliant.  We all know how addicting bubble wrap is, so it sells me right away that this is a toy that dogs would enjoy playing with over and over and over again.  Which, even if the squeaking gets annoying from time to time, isn't the dog's happiness all that really matters here?

Last, there's the Santa wand toy.  I always liked the idea of wand toys for pets.  Maybe it's because it meant they couldn't scratch me, but I still got to run around and play with them.  Like most kids without a cat in the house, I wasn't particularly good at realizing that a cat doesn't want to play like a dog, so the wand toys were a good compromise.

This one's got an adorable penguin with a Santa hat and scarf.  I like that the feet are attached by string so it gives the cat something to bat and make spin as they attack the toy.  Plus it looks like a cartoon character, which is just adorable.

That's my top three this week.  And I'll try and keep some variety in my choices the next few weeks for ya as well.
